 What is the refuse & recycling pick up schedule?

The Village of Westfield contracts with Waste Management, WI.  The village bids the services every five years and locks in contract for the resident of the Village.  Presently the refuse and recycling charge is $42.00 per quarter.  Refuse pick up is every Wednesday and recycling is every second & fourth Wednesday of the month.

Separate the placement of your trash and recycling by at least 2 feet or on opposite sides of your driveway.
 
All recycling must be in clear plastic bags so driver can identify trash from recycling.  Do not put recycling in trash can.

 Snow & Ice Removal

IN TIMES OF SNOWFALL, all sidewalks shall be cleared by the property owner (full width and length) upon whose land said sidewalk abuts within 24 hours of the sidewalk becoming snow covered to a depth of at least one inch, or sprinkled with ashes, sawdust or sand if it becomes ice covered.  All non-compliant property owners will be issued an ordinance violation citation, and, the Village shall cause all sidewalks which have not been cleared of snow and ice as required by this subsection to be cleared.  When snow or ice removal is performed by Village personnel, the property owner shall be assessed a minimum of $50.00.  If the actual cost of such snow or ice removal exceeds $50.00, the assessed charge will be calculated as follows:  hourly pay rate plus cost of fringe benefits of each employee involved in the removal plus the number of employees involved times the length of time involved plus the cost of any equipment involved in the removal.  (The cost of such equipment is determined by reference to the State of Wisconsin Maintenance Manual Exhibit 5.55).  Such charges levied in accordance with the above shall be a debt due to the approving authority and shall be a lien upon the property.  If this debt is not paid by the 10th of the month following the billing day, a one-percent charge per month shall be added to the delinquent bill.  Thereafter, if payment is not received prior to November 15th of the current year, the delinquent bill will be placed on the succeeding tax roll.

 What is the ATV Route Through the Village?

The ATV Route through he Village of Westfield was established in October, 2013.  Map and Ordinance can be found as followed:

 Tax Payment Information:

To insure accuracy when paying your taxes please include the lower third of your bill with your payment.  Receipts will only be returned if a self-addressed stamp envelope is enclosed.  Please use correct postage for your receipts.

Please note: If you want a receipt dated, according to state statute, we must have the payment in our office on or before December 31st.  Post marks in this case can not be used because the official due date for the first installment is January 31st.

All first installments or full payments of real estate property or personal property must be received in our office by January 31st. 

All Second installments must be paid to Marquette Treasurer by July 31st.

 Overnight or Alternate Side Parking:

Per Ordinance 480-3-H Overnight parking between November 1st and April 15th shall be as follows: [Added 7-24-1986].

(1)   No persons shall park, stop or leave standing any vehicle on any street in the Village of Westfield on any day between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., except as hereinafter provided.  On even-numbered calendar dates vehicles may be parked on the side of the street adjacent to lots and houses which have been assigned even numbers in accordance with Chapter 225 of this Code.

(2)   Any police officers who shall find any vehicle described in Subsection H(1) parked in violation of Subsection H(1) shall be authorized to remove the same or cause the same to be done and to place said vehicle or article of conveyance in a garage or similar place of storage, and the costs of removal and storage shall be a charge against the vehicles owner in 480 and shall be paid by the owner thereof before retaking possession thereof.

 Dog Owners:

All dogs need to be vaccinated against rabies within 30 days of reaching four months of age and have future protection kept current by a veterinarian.  Dogs must be licensed by April 1st or $5.00 late charge will be added to the license fee.

Certificate of rabies vaccination must be presented at the time of license purchase.  Absolutely no license will be issued without proof of vaccination.

Due to the thickness of the tag no tags will be mailed.

Please write separate checks for taxes and dog license fees.  Dog licenses and fees will not be issued until after the first of the year.

*Effective Nov. '02, Dangerous Dog Ordinance.  Specific breeds are prohibited within the Village of Westfield.  Abbreviated list: Pit bull; Chow; Rottweiler; Wolf or any mix of these varieties.

 Burning Ordiance:

Open burning of leaves, weeds, brush, stumps, clean wood and other vegetative debris is allowed in accordance with the following provisions: (1) Outdoor campfires for cooking, ceremonies or recreation as allowed.  (2) Except for campfires, burning should be conducted during the months of March, April & May and again September, October & November and only between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and midnight.

  • First Wednesday of each month.
  • Piles must be placed parallel to the street with cut ends all in one direction.
  • Tree and shrub branched must be no longer than 4" in diameter and not less than 3' long
