Westfield Senior Citizen/ Add Life Center

The Elderly Nutrition Program is "more than a meal".  Besides promoting better health among participants through nutrition, the Elderly Nutrition program is aimed at reducing the isolation of old age, promoting greater utilization of needed services and generally offering older adults a greater opportunity to remain independent and productive within the community.  The Aging Unit responds to the needs of Senior Citizens in five principle areas: transportation, nutrition, benefit counseling, advocacy and volunteer opportunities.

Westfield AddLife Center Receives Generous Community Support
Recently, Maggie Mae, the popular country singer from Oxford, WI, brought down the house at the new Add Life Senior Center located in the new Village hall in Westfield.  Ninety seniors attended the meal site that day to enjoy the show given for free by the singer.  Since relocating to the new building, the Westfield program has also been gifted with a new AV system from the Hallelujah Hustle Committee of the Seventh Day Adventists.  Their mission is to support healthy living.  The proceeds from from their 5KRun/ Walk were enough to purchase a 42" television, DVD/VHS player, and Wii gaming system for the seniors.

These gifts are the lastest in a round of community support that has surrounded the Add Life program since it moved into the new building.  Instrumental to this boost of success are the consistent efforts of Roberta Galbraith, Add Life Program Director of Westfield.  Roberta has always considered programming to be an important part of the meal site, and participants have benefited greatly.  Social activities have included everything from music to games, to authors and poetry.
